King Tut: Was It Murder? WebQuest

A project designed for a master's course at Illinois State University, A WebQuest: Was It Murder? The Death of King Tutankhamun The Boy King offers a fascinating mystery for students to solve.

Using the WebQuest, teams of 4-5 students play roles of medical examiner, reporter, archaeologist, historian (optional), and history professor to solve the mystery. After working together and synthesizing their information, the team members then write a persuasive essay, stating and defending their position on the topic.

The WebQuest also includes five "fun" facts which are hidden under page images, an evaluation rubric, essay help, and an outcomes page.

Rating: Blends history, research, thinking, and writing into a super integrated activity.
