A Review of CNN Time Capsule : 1995

If I need to know something, if a news story is breaking somewhere, anywhere, CNN is the place to be. These guys get around. Every major news story in the world, you can expect CNN to cover it. And so, when I received CNN : Time Capsule 1995, I expected the best in depth coverage of the definitive moments of 1995. And CNN, unsurprisingly, delivered.
This software covers all the memorable events of 1995 both in the U.S. and the rest of the world, in all areas of interest, from sports to politics to business and more. CNN's comprehensive coverage of news stories carries over into Time Capsule and gives it the feeling of watching a CNN documentary.
Most stories contain a few minutes of narrated video, followed by written text offering more in depth coverage. Within the text are hyperlinks to pictures and sounds, offering a full-bodied multimedia experience. Some stories also contain reactions from people to the story, political cartoons and reporter's biographies. The interface is very user friendly, and at no time did I feel lost within the bounds of the program. Any text screens can be printed out for handy reference when writing a paper, and other such activities. The program also contains a searchable index to find specific stories.
In addition to the story feature, the program also houses a gallery, allowing the user to browse the various video, photo, and sound clips used throughout the program. A small quiz game is also included to add a little variety to the product.
All in all, I was quite impressed with CNN's handling of the definitive moments of 1995, and would encourage anyone who thrives on a multimedia and would like to remember the events of 1995 to take a serious look at Time Capsule.
